SPEC staff received a day off to put our engineering skills to work participating in Habitat for Humanity building a home for a local family here in Albany, NY.

We are thankful to have had another opportunity to partner with the teachers and staff of the South Colonie School District to provide toys and gifts for local homeless children. Thank you to our employees for the outpouring of support and providing Christmas cheer to so many children in need!

The SPEC Albany Office participated in our 2nd Annual Adopt-A-Family this holiday season. We continued to support homeless children from a local elementary school. We were also able to expand our reach to include underprivileged children from a nearby daycare center. Our staff and their families shopped for clothing, toys and other special items to make the holidays bright for children in need right in our community. Our SPEC Family was thrilled to be able to deliver wrapped gifts for Christmas morning to over 30 children. We can’t wait for next year!

SPEC Employees participated in an Adopt-A-Family holiday program this season. Homeless children from a local elementary school and their siblings received wrapped presents to open on Christmas Day. These included clothes and toys that had been identified by the student’s teacher as a need or want for each child. SPEC was overjoyed to help kids in need this Christmas right here in our own community! We plan to continue this program every December.

On Saturday October 7th SPEC employees, friends and family joined in the fun and raised over $2,000 to support the cause to end breast cancer. We had walkers, runners and cheerleaders who joined in the 5k run/walk and the 2k family walk. We even had a participant in the 5 and under Children’s Dash! Thanks to all who donated and participated. Our SPEC team came in first place among corporate teams for fundraising total. We are looking forward to participating in events like this again.
